Chairs and umbrellas are one of the subjects I return to most often, but this piece came from a commission that pushed me to approach it differently, a new colour palette, and small additions like the towel and the pillow that I hadn't included before. It's a familiar scene made unfamiliar, which is often where the most useful shifts in a practice happen.
